Mode of operation

  • The necessary clamping force is generated by a double-acting hydraulic cylinder with a wedge mechanism.
  • Themechanicallyself-lockingT-bolt clampis pushed either manually or with one of the automatic positioning units EVK or EVS (see chapter of Flexible Clamp Systems) into the U-recess of the die and the T-slot on the machine underneath it. The design with flange is used to install the clamp unit to machine tools or special machines.

Description

The hydraulically operated clamping cylinder generates there quired clamping force by means of awedge mechanism which is mechanically self-locking when in clamped position. To unclamp hydraulic pressure is applied to the unclamping side ofthepiston.Were commend the use of pilot-controlled check valve stomaintain the unclamped position.The clamp unit can be operated centrally via the machine control system or by means of a separate hydraulic power pack.
